MERCUROUS ACETATE - Reference Information

Use used as an analytical reagent and also used in the pharmaceutical industry
production method 1.20g of mercury nitrate (I)[Hg2(NO3)2 · 2H2O] dihydrate was dissolved in 25% of water to which of nitric acid was added. Another 15g of anhydrous sodium acetate was dissolved in 50ml of water. This solution is added to the above-mentioned prepared mercury nitrate (I) solution with stirring, and the Mercury acetate (I) precipitates out. Suction filtration, washing with cold water, and drying in the dark in a brown dryer, the yield was 13G. 2. Place mercury nitrate in a cold place, add sodium acetate to precipitate in dilute nitric acid environment, filter and wash, then dry with calcium chloride to obtain:
category toxic substances
toxicity grade high toxicity
Acute toxicity oral-rat LD50: 175 mg/kg; Oral-mouse LD50: 150 mg/kg
flammability hazard characteristics thermal decomposition of toxic mercury gases
storage and transportation characteristics The warehouse is ventilated and dried at low temperature; It is stored and transported separately from food raw materials
fire extinguishing agent carbon dioxide, sand, water
